Where would this fit in a routine?
I use a gentle foaming cleanser at the beginning of my routine, either after oil cleansing or as my first cleanser if I choose not to oil cleanse. A full routine will look something like this:
Oil cleanser > Cleanser > Toner > Vitamin C > BHA > AHA > Prescription Treatment > Hydrating Toner > First essence > Essence > Serum > Ampoule > Sheet mask > Eye Treatment > Emulsion/Lotion > Cream > Spot Treatment > Sleeping Pack or SunscreenHow do I use it?
I apply one pump to my fingertips then gently massage it all over my face. Once it's been evenly distributed I apply a small amount of water to foam the cleanser up a bit, then massage some more. From this point I continue to add more water and massage quickly until the cleanser is washed away. I will wipe my face with my hands to remove excess water, and apply a toner to remove any excess water and residue from cleansing.
My Skin Type:
To get an idea of how this product might work for you, it may be helpful to know what my skin is like when reading my thoughts about the performance of this product. My skin is combination (normal/oily), dehydrated, and acne prone. I have minimal fine lines (mostly under my eyes), hyper-pigmentation from acne scarring and sun damage, and am sensitive to alcohol.
Packaging:
This cleanser comes in a hard plastic bottle with a pump, which holds 200mL of product. The packaging is durable, and makes the product easy to dispense. The pump top also locks down with a twist for easy travel.
Product Detail:
In the bottle, the cleanser looks translucent with a hunt of golden yellow color - but in my hand, the cleanser simply looks clear. It smells of tea tree oil. The consistency of this cleanser is quite thin, similar to an oil cleanser.
The packaging states that the pH of this cleanser is between 5.5-6, which I found to be fairly accurate! My horrendous well water has a pH of ~8.5, and the cleanser itself has a pH of ~5. When mixed with my water, however, the cleanser has a pH of 5.5-6!
My Thoughts:
I like the consistency of the GentleMask T-Tox Cleanser - it makes it very easy to apply and massage. It could maybe be a bit thicker, but it does work well for me the way it is. I also enjoy the scent - tea tree is one of those scents that make you just "feel" clean, you know? I even have tea tree oil in a cool mist diffuser in our home, it's just a great natural antiseptic scent. What I like most, however, is that this cleanser works well deep cleaning my skin, helping to clear my acne, and doesn't make it feel dry or tight at all afterwards. My skin looks brighter and calmer after I wash, and even my acne becomes less inflamed! I've used this cleanser pretty regularly for a couple months and I'm still happy with it. You all know I have a hard time committing to any one product in particular, but this cleanser will always have a spot on my shelf.
Would I repurchase?
Yes!
