BonVivant Original Chrome Mask [First Impressions] Review
Last week Memebox released their Original Chrome Mask, that many of us had been ogling over since we saw it was released in Korea. I hadn't been this excited about a new Memebox release in a while, so I took advantage of the points and coupon I had saved, and bought a jar! Shipping was fast, and I had the mask in my hands yesterday! Having only had the opportunity to use this mask once, this is obviously a first impressions post. But since I do expect masks to give immediate (or overnight) effects, unlike a cream or serum or other piece of skincare, I assume the results I share with you here will remain about the same each time I use this mask.

Me To Me #Memebox #Unboxing | #TreatYoselfFirst
It's been quite some time since I purchased a Memebox. I'll be totally honest, they aren't what they used to be years ago. But occationally I find some with new items that really intrigue me, and I decide my memepoints are worthy of being spent. Such was the case when I saw the Me To Me box posted, and knowing both my wedding anniversary and Valentine's day were fast approaching I snatched one up.

#DrAlthea Water Glow Hydrogel Mask #Review
I've always had a hard time finding good hydrogel masks. I love how they feel on my face, but there's only a couple that I've tried over the years that I really like, so I'm always interested in trying more. When the Dr Althea brand was added to Memebox recently, I was intrigued by the pretty and simple packaging, and grabbed a couple to try out.
Dr.Althea Water Glow Skin Renewal Hydrogel Mask
I purchased this item from Memebox USA.
The Dr Althea Water Glow Hydrogel is supposed to soften and moisturize dry and flaky skin. It claims to protect and strengthen the skins' moisture barrier, and prevent further damage to the skin by offering non-sticky hydration and a healthy glow.
Ingredients on Cosdna.
Castor Oil has a 1/5 acne trigger rating.
Butylene Glycol has a 1/5 acne trigger rating.
Jojoba Oil has a 2/5 acne trigger rating and a 2/5 irritant rating.
Coconut Oil has a 4/5 acne trigger rating and a 1/5 irritant rating.
The Water Glow Hydrogel comes sandwiched between two pieces of pearl paper to prevent it from bunching up in the packaging. It clung well to the plastic to I removed both sides of the "paper" and then applied the gel sheets to my face. I applied the top half first, and after I got it situated I applied the bottom half. I find this order makes it easer to get a full face fit.
This mask had a light floral scent, almost like roses. I found it to be pleasing, but it might be irritating to others. I will say though that it was not strong enough to make me feel like I was tasting flowers, which is a huge plus for me. There was no extra essence in the package, but the mask felt well saturated. I liked the opaque white color of this hydrogel, I found it to be unique. I got a nice fit, with the exception of a small gap on either side of my nose - no big deal. The material was very smooth and soft against my skin, and of course cooling as most hydrogel masks are. There was a slight tingling sensation for a while as well, but nothing that caused irritation of any kind.
Surprisingly enough, this hydrogel lasted a full hour on my face before I removed it, and could have lasted longer. I do believe that is a new record for any hydrogel I've tried - usually I find they dry out way too quickly for my liking, especially when they are so comfortable on the skin. Upon removal my face was more hydrated, and looked brighter and more plump. I'm very happy with this hydrogel, and will definitely repurchase.

#BonVivant Mint + Tea Tree #SheetMask from #Memebox #Review
You guys know how much I love Memebox - to have a blog dedicated to unboxing their boxes and reviewing their products, and of course my family at Memebox Addicts... So you can imagine how excited I get when Memebox releases new products under their house brands. Recently, Memebox released a new house brand all-together called Bon Vivant which showcases a natural side of their skincare line, and they introduced it with three different sheet masks. Tonight I'm sharing one of those three!
Bon Vivant Mint + Tea Tree Botanical Mask Pack
Made in Korea | Purchased from Memebox USA (affiliate)
Description:
This mask is designed to help with pore tightening and sebum control. It is made from an innovative botanical mask sheet that holds a greater amount of moisture than traditional paper masks, and for a longer period of time as well. The material is supposed to be more breathable and have a better fit than paper masks.
Ingredients:
Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Allantoin, Panthenol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Glyceryl caprylate, Xantham Gum, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Fragrance
Cosdna analysis
Directions:
Remove the mask from the pouch and unfold - remove the center support and apply mask to face. Relax for 10-20 minutes (or longer) - remove the sheet mask and pat in remaining essence.
My skin is oily, dehydrated, acne-prone with hormonal cystic acne from PCOS and sensitive to alcohol, bee venom and propolis.
Performance:
The Mint + Tea Tree mask felt very soft and squishy when I removed it from the package. I could tell it held onto a lot of essence and I couldn't wait to get it on my face. There was a half-sheet mesh support in the middle of the folded mask to keep it from balling up in the packaging, and to help you be able to unfold it easier. Once unfolded I was able to easily apply it to my face. It was easy to adjust and get a nearly perfect fit. The material is thin, pliable, and very soft - but still durable enough to work with easily. There is a bit of a tingling sensation when the mask is on my face - Memebox claims this is from the mask adjusting your skins' pH, but I think it's just from the peppermint and tea tree extracts.
Verdict:
The tingly cooling sensation was actually pretty relaxing and refreshing for me. After removal my skin felt fresh and cool, but I didn't notice any difference with my pores really. After using this mask a few different times I do think it's nice for calming acne though, and will definitely keep some on hand for that purpose.

Snails On A Plane #Memebox #Review
Snails On A Plane Box by Fifty Shades of Snail
$26 for a $51 value!
Box Description: Holiday travel season is in full swing! Wondering how you're going to travel with your skincare routine without violating TSA liquid limits or your own limited patience for decanting and labeling? Fiddy Snails has your back with this hand-curated K-beauty travel set full of TSA-friendly favorites. Travel light and look great from departure to return!
Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet | Travel Size 10ml ($3.00)
Description: Ever flown with a liquid makeup remover or cleansing oil before? Leaks and spills from oil-based products are no joke. The inside of your carryon will be safe from messes with this oil cleanser in solid form. Once you've reached your destination, the nourishing oils and fermented ingredients in the Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet will dissolve all your makeup and sunscreen in a flash while moisturizing travel-dry skin.
Ingredients: Cosdna analysis
Directions: Massage a small amount onto dry face. Wet hands and massage again to emulsify. Rinse and follow with a mild foaming cleanser.
Fiddy Tip: Spread cleansing sherbet onto face and wait 5-15 minutes before massaging for a deeper cleanse.
Performance: This balm cleanser came in a cute little tub with a smooth and creamy texture. It had no scent (that I detected) and spread onto my skin easily. I loved how easily it melted down into an oil consistency when it was being massaged into my skin. Using Fiddy's Tip, I did find that this cleanser worked very well cleaning out my pores. This did a great job removing makeup and sunscreen - even waterproof eye makeup!
Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash | Full-Size 70g ($10.00)
Description: Cleansers are some of the most annoying products to travel with. Pump bottles often leak in transit, but if you decant, you end up with a massive pumpless inconvenience. This pH 5.5 powder cleanser gets skin sparkling clean and buttery smooth. And since it's a dry product, it leaves more room for the rest of your skincare goodies! Who knows? You might never go back to your liquid cleanser again!
Ingredients: Cosdna analysis
Directions: Shake a small amount onto palm. Add water and lather. Massage over face. Rinse.
Fiddy Tip: Tosowoong Enzyme Powder Wash doubles as a gentle exfoliating scrub. Use slightly more product and slightly less water than usual. The undissolved grains will remove dead skin cells as you cleanse.
Performance: This has quickly become my holy grail cleanser - my face cannot live without out! Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration, but are you really going to question a woman when she's only had four hours of sleep? Yeah... This cleanser has a nice low pH of ~5.5, comes in a powder form, dispenses one "use" at a time, and foams up very easily both between your hands or with a foaming net or cleansing brush. I personally love this cleanser paired up with the I'm Meme Pore Brush - they are a match made in heaven! Love how smooth and bright my skin is after I use this cleanser, and it works well for me both day and night. Because it is an exfoliating cleanser (due to the papaya extract) I generally just use it once a day - at night - but it does work well at either point in your routine.
Tosowoong Sheet Masks 3pcs- Propolis, Deep Sea Water, Snail | Full-Size 23g ($6.00)
Description: Cold weather and winter travel can take a serious toll on skin. Plump a parched face back up with one of these intensely hydrating, brightening sheet masks. Sheet masking on airplanes is totally a Thing now! Even if you're not quite brave enough to join the sheet mask jet set, keep a couple of these handy for the end of a stressful evening or to prep for a special event.
Directions: After cleansing and toning, fit over face. Relax for 20-45 minutes.
Fiddy Tip: After removing your sheet mask, while face is still damp, seal in the hydration with a couple of drops of facial oil or a thin layer of moisturizer for maximum softness and lasting effects.
Performance: I have a full review of each of these masks already on my blog:
>Propolis
>Deep Sea Water
>Snail
Mediheal E.G.T. Essence Gel Eyefill Patch | Full-Size 5pcs ($12.00)
Description: The skin around eyes is especially prone to drying out and showing stress. These tightening, brightening eye patches will revive tired under eyes so you can look well rested even if you've been up all night on a redeye flight.
Ingredients: Cosdna analysis
Directions: After cleansing and toning, apply patches to undereye area. Relax for 10-15 minutes.
Fiddy Tip: Refrigerate before use to maximize de-puffing power. Fiddy Tip 2: Slap a pair of thes e on in the morning and then hit the snooze button!
Performance: Ahh yes, the eye patch that got me hooked on eye patches! Seriously, I never saw the point, until I tried these gels. They are comfortable, cooling, and depuff my undereye area perfectly. Love them!
Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing Mask | Travel Size 30ml ($20.00)
Description: This is the only item in the Snails on a Plane Box that counts towards your TSA liquid limits, and believe us, it's 30ml of baggie space well spent. Packed full of ginseng and other traditional medicinal herbs, this smooth, silky cream moisturizes and primes skin perfectly for makeup in the morning and acts as an intensive treatment mask overnight, letting you wake up with firm and radiant skin no matter how little sleep you get during your holiday travels.
Ingredients: Cosdna analysis
Directions: After cleansing and toning, apply a small amount during the day and a larger amount at night.
Fiddy Tip: For maximum overnight effectiveness, apply in two thin layers rather than one thick layer before bed.
Performance: I actually have not tried this yet - it's the only thing from the box that I haven't tried - but I'll update once I get to point where I'm ready to test it!
Overall: I really think this was a well-rounded box, and the price point was great! Fiddy did a great job collaborating with Memebox and I hope to see this (or something similar) brought back later on!

1. Jeju Hallabong Energy Heating Massage Deep Cleanse | Full-Size 224g ($18)
Description: A unique deep cleanser that warms to open the pores for an ultimate cleansing that leaves the skin unbelievably smooth and radiant. Fused with coconut and cactus extracts, the cleanser leaves skin moisturized long after cleansing.
Directions: Apply evenly over face, avoiding the eyes, and gently massage using fingertips and palms. Focus on the more porous areas such as the nose and cheeks. Rinse off with lukewarm water first, then do a final rinse with cool water to help tighten the cleansed pores.
This is what won me over and made me finally buy this box. Something about warming cleansers always make me think that my pores are going to magically be cleaned out and my skin will feel like it's in some amazing spa. While this cleanser wasn't quite *that* magical, this is a nice cleanser that warms gently without irritating the skin, and does a decent job removing face makeup (I don't recommend using it on the eyes due to the warming effect).
The only issue I had with this cleanser was that the packaging didn't fit it well. It was too runny and the tube bottle didn't close securely enough. When placed on its bottom the cleanser would seep out, so I transferred it to a pump bottle and it works perfectly!
2. Jeju Hallabong Energy Mild All-in-One Serum | Full-Size 100ml ($21.50)
Description: This all in one serum combines essence+emulsion+serum to provide serious moisture and nutrition. Formulated with Hallabong extracts that are known to be rich in vitamins that brighten up the skin for a healthy complexion.
Directions: On a cleansed and toned face, pump a proper amount and apply over the face carefully in up and outward motions. Gently pat in the remaining product for full absorption.
I've used this serum before and while I love the citrus scent, I never found it to actually do anything for my skin. I tried this a bit again, and while I see nothing wrong with it, it's not something I'd purchase on it's own.
Description: This delightfully nourishing cream is rich in vitamins that moisturize and protect the skin. Formulated with Hallabong fruits such as kiwi, orange, lemongrass and avocado extracts which promote healthy and moisturized skin.
Directions: After using a serum, take proper amount, apply over the face carefully and let it absorb into the skin. Rub hands together and wrap them around the face for best absorption.
This is a nice cream, that has a thicker gel consistency and the delicious citrus hallabong scent. It absorbed into my oily skin very well, and was light enough to be worn during the day.
4. Jeju Hallabong Energy Moisture Hand Cream Full-Size | 50ml ($4.50)
Description: This refreshing Hallabong-scented hand cream hydrates and nourishes dry hands.Vitamins from the Jeju Hallabong extracts protect the skin from dryness and locks in moisture with its fast-absorbing formula.
Directions: Apply as needed throughout the day whenever your hands feel dry.
Minnesota winter pretty much comes with a warning about needing lotion - hand cream being my weapon of choice because I clean for a living and wash dishes a couple times a day. My hands are always dry, cracked, and peeling. This is a nice thicker cream, but thin enough to soak into my hands in just a couple minutes. I love the scent (of course) and it fits very nicely into my purse.
5. No Smudge Eyeliner Pen | Full-Size .06g ($13)
Description: Create any look from chic to bold with this long-lasting and quick-drying precision eye liner. Made of a deep black pigment to create a bold eye. Unlike most no smudge liners, this eyeliner washes off easily!
Directions: Apply to the lash line and the waterline to add definition and accentuate the eyes.
I actually did not try this at all, because I absolutely suck at applying eyeliner. My hands are too shaky, and honestly I just don't wear makeup more than once or twice a month. I like the packaging and it does have a nice thin tip, so I'm sure this one was lovely.
This was a really great box that I'm glad I was able to grab. I love seeing brand boxes like this at Memebox, and I wouldn't mind seeing this one brought back for anyone who may have missed it the first time around!

#Memebox Mini K-Beauty Starter Kit [Review]
A few weeks ago Memebox released a Mini K-Beauty Starter Kit for just $10. It's filled with samples to give you a way to test out a k-beauty routine and see how it works for you. I'm a sucker for samples and low prices, so of course I grabbed this box right away.

Banila Co Clean It Zero or Botanic Farm Grain Cleansing Sherbert (randomly selected) | Sample Size 10ml
Purpose: Wash away oil based impurities with one of these cleansing creams. Remove makeup effectively and nourish the skin with skin boosting ingredients.
Directions: Scoop a small amount and place on the back of your hand. Then using your ring finger take the product from the back of your hand and dab onto a dry face and massage in up and outward motions. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat dry for moisture retention.
I received the Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbert. This works great to remove makeup, even eye makeup, and leaves my skin soft and clean. It's also scent free!
Benton Honest Cleansing Foam | Sample Size 8g
Purpose: Wash away water based impurities with this balancing cleansing foam. Controls excessive sebum and purifies the skin, leaving it refreshed and supple.
Directions: Wash face with lukewarm water. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of cleanser and massage onto the face until it forms a lather. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
This is not one of my favorite cleansers, but I used the sample for review purposes. I found it to be drying and somewhat irritating to my skin after I used it a couple times in a row.
EXFOLIATE/MASK:
Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off | Sample Size 8g
Purpose: An exfoliating skin-softening mask that removes dead skin cells and create a soft, radiant complexion. Formulated with Brazilian black sugar which helps decrease the number of black and white heads.
Directions: After washing, apply desired amount onto face (avoid eye & mouth areas). Mix with water or toner to reduce skin irritation, and massage. For even better results, mix a teaspoon of this mask with a cleansing oil. Wait 10-15 mins, then wash off with warm water.
I've used the full size of this mask in the past, and was happy to see it as a sample in this kit. It's one of my favorite exfoliants, even though physical exfoliants can be damaging to the skin. I find this mask is a perfect balance of exfoliant and hydrating mask - I leave it on my skin for 10 minutes then gently massage it with water. My skin is soft, smooth, and plump afterwards.
TONE:
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin Toner | Sample Size 15ml
Purpose: Tone the skin after cleansing. This moisturizing and nourishing toner is formulated with Jeju green tea & green tea seed. Moisturizing and refreshing!
Directions: Apply an adequate amount and spread softly on the face and neck. Pat for better absorption.
This toner has a bit of a fresh scent - very light. It's great for adding back a bit of moisture after cleansing, so your skin doesn't dry out too much before you start adding in other treatments and serums.
TREAT:
Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid | Sample Packet
Purpose: Prevent stubborn blackheads from appearing with this BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. This liquid essence is specially formulated with BHA molecules to effectively remove dead skin cells.
Directions: After washing and toning, dispense 1 to 2 pumps of the power liquid and spread it all over the face. Gently massage it onto the affected area where most blackheads show. Use daily - morning and evening.
This liquid is great for minimizing blackheads, but I found it to be a bit too harsh for my skin when I used the full size.
Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid | Sample Packet
Purpose: Clear away whiteheads and clogged pores with this AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid. It’s a premium formulation of apple water, AHA and glycolic acid. This power liquid effectively cleanses pores and eliminates whiteheads. With its AHA content, it offers gentle exfoliation to removes dead skin.
Directions: After washing, apply 2 to 3 pumps of the power liquid and apply onto the areas where dead skin and whiteheads prominently show. Using a cotton pad, spread the liquid all throughout the skin in circular motions. After 5 minutes, wash off with lukewarm water. Recommended to use every night. Apply sunscreen the next morning.
I use this [full size] almost daily and I feel like it really helps prevent my acne from getting out of control. It speeds up cell turnover and keep my skin nice and clear.
SERUM, EFFECTOR & ESSENCE:
Innisfree Green Tea Serum | Sample Size 1ml -3pcs
Purpose: A nourishing serum to deeply hydrate and balance moisture levels. Formulated with Jeju green tea, amino acids and minerals.
Directions: Take out an appropriate amount and apply around your face and neck.
This is a serum I've wanted to try for a long time. It feels very nice - it absorbs well but isn't too watery. My only complaint is that it smells like Old Spice.
It’s Skin Power 10 Effectors | Sample Packets - 5pcs
Purpose: Treat everyday skincare concerns with one of these effectors. Formulated with a variety of vitamins and nutrients that target a variety of skincare concerns to reveal a better complexion.
Directions: Squeeze and apply a few drops the the face in up and outward motions. Gently pat into skin for full absorption.
I don't notice much difference between all these, most smell the same, and the consistency is almost the same (one or two are a bit thicker), but I'm sure they help your skin more if you use them more than once.
Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence | Sample Packet
Purpose: Repair damage, and prevent future damage with this snail mucin essence. Snail mucin is scientifically and dermatologically proven to repair damaged skin cells, and promote skin cell regeneration.
Directions: After washing and toning your face, dispense 3 to 4 pumps of the essence onto your palm. Rub your hands together to warm the product then massage gently all over your face and neck. Pat gently for better absorption.
I've also used the full size of this product, and unfortunately it breaks me out. I used to love snail, but this one really made me leary of products with too much snail mucin in them.
MOISTURIZE:
Goodal Moisture Barrier Cream | Sample Size 10ml
Purpose: With its ceramide complex, this cream effectively moisturizes and balances the skin leaving it soft all day long. The rich, balm like texture melts on the skin creating a firm moisture barrier with a light finish.
Directions: At the last step skin care, dispense an appropriate amount and apply to the face and neck.
This is the sample that made me really want this set - I love Goodal products and this cream is designed to help your moisture barrier, something I really want help with. It doesn't have much of a scent, is very thick, and is very soothing. I really enjoy this and will save it for extra cold nights when my skin is more dry than usual.
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Cream | Sample Size 5ml
Purpose: This balancing cream provides nourishment and moisture with premium green tea ingredients. Light as whipped cream, it is absorbed by the skin to provide quick and intense moisture.
Directions: Take out an appropriate amount and apply around your face and neck.
This is a nice light cream with a very light scent, this is perfect for me during the daytime.
Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Lotion | Sample Size 15ml
Purpose: This light moisturizer provides moisture without the heaviness of a cream. Balances and nourishes with premium green tea ingredients.
Directions: Take out an adequate amount and apply softly on the face and neck to allow it to fully absorb to the skin.
This is very similar to the cream, but a little thinner - I can use this during the day or night and it's perfect for layering under any cream.
This box was an incredible value, and I loved trying all the samples! I hope Memebox curates more sample boxes like this in the future!

Guerisson 9 Complex Essence [Review]
Do you ever find yourself feeling drawn to a product just because it stars an out-of-the-ordinary ingredient? I mean, I jumped into Asian beauty almost two years ago because of snail slime. Seriously. From snails I jumped around a bit and lately have been pretty hung up on donkey milk. But when I saw horse oil pop up on my radar, my curiosity was peaked. Horse oil is of very similar composition to the same oil we humans produce (ie. sebum) so it makes sense that it would work with our skin, right? Well, that's what I was hoping for anyway!
