eOpenMarket Lucky Box [Unboxing]

Samples are a great way to try new products without committing to purchasing a full size item. There's few things worse than dropping big bucks on a new skincare product, and finding out just a few uses in that it doesn't work for your skin. I remember hearing about eOpenMarket's Luck Box last year sometime, but back then I was swamped with samples and didn't need to spend money on more. I was recently reminded of it though, and took a chance, and ordered. 

For just under $9, eOpenMarket guarantees you more than 30 samples (a value they claim is between $12-$15). After just two weeks, my package arrived from Korea - here's what was inside:

For $8.80 (and free shipping) I received 60 samples! This box really was an amazing value, and I receive a lot of products that I've never tried, some that I've never heard of either. Some will be great for testing out in my daily routine, and others (like the cleanser samples) will be great in the semi when I just take a small bag into the truck-stop bathrooms to get ready for bed.

Michael Todd Soniclear Petite [Review] #michaeltoddusa

Taking care of my skin has become a huge part of my life, and no skincare routine can be fully effective if you don't start with well cleansed skin.

The Soniclear Petite comes with a brush head (which has a cover), a USB charger, and a storage/charging stand. The Soniclear is unique to other sonic cleansing brushes because it has specially treated brush heads that are clinically proven to reduce 99.9% of bacteria after 24 hours. This antibacterial treatment also allows you to continue using the same brush head for up to 6 months, vs the 3 months of other brands' brush heads. The brush is waterproof with 3-speed settings for a customizable experience. When on, the brush has an automatic timer which tells you when to move to a new area of your face to prevent over-cleansing. The sonic-powered motion works with your skins' natural elasticity to cleanse and exfoliate gently, but also 6x better than just cleansing with your hands alone. The Soniclear Petite also has a 5-year warranty.

#Elizavecca #MilkyPiggy Glutinous Mask Snail Cream [Review]

Snail is one of the ingredients that initially drew me into Asian beauty. I had taken a look at a lot of different products, and while people were getting squeemish over the thought of smearing snail slime on their faces, that was the thing that made me realize AB really was going to be a different experience than Western beauty could ever give me. 

Elizavecca: Milky Piggy Glutinous Mask 80% Snail Cream

100g; Made in Korea

Purpose: The Elizavecca Milky Piggy Glutinous Mask 80% Snail Cream is a whitening and anti-wrinkle cream.

To Use: Can be used as the last step in your skincare routine in either the morning or evening.

Notable Ingredients: I was unable to find a full list of ingredients for this product, but the major players in this product (noted on the packaging) are niacinamide, adenosine, snail mucus. These three ingredients together work to lighten hyper-pigmentation and discoloration, firm the skin and plump fine lines and wrinkles, and prevent new signs of aging from forming.

Packaging: The cream comes inside a cute little box with the Elizavecca piggy riding a snail.

 The Snail Cream comes in a traditional Elizavecca insulated tub, with an inner lid holding a spatula and an out lid securing the closed tub.

Performance: The snail cream is thick and stringy, is opaque white in color, and smells a bit floral. The cream leaves a bit of a film after being rubbed in (see bottom left photo below) but it does fully absorb into the skin after a minute (bottom right photo below). Once absorbed my skin feels soft and smooth, but also hydrated and semi-matte.

This is a great cream for either day or night (I personally prefer using it at night, applying it thicker as a sleeping mask), but also as a hand cream (hehe - really, it works great on my cracked hands in this cold weather right now!).

Sleeping packs are a bit of an elusive creature to me. I like the idea of them, but I have a hard time finding ones that fit my skin type and needs, without clogging my pores. 

Elizavecca: Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack
100g; Made in Korea

Purpose: The Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack is supposed to absorb easily into the skin with the help of collagen peptides, which renew vitality within the skin. This pack is supposed to improve wrinkles and fine lines with the help of the ingredient adenosine.

To Use: This pack can be used in the evening as the last layer in your skincare routine, or as a wash-off pack after 10-20 minutes of a thick layer absorbing into your skin.

Ingredients: Hydrolyzed collagen, Water, Dipropylene glycol, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol/glycerin/polyacrylic Acid Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Theobroma Cacao Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyglutamic Acid, Bacillus/ Soybean Ferment Extract, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

Cosdna & Notable Ingredients: The Cosdna analysis for this product is pretty good! There is one low potential acne trigger, Dimethecone (1/5), which is in the middle of the ingredients list. No potential sensitive skin irritants - but please remember that everyone reacts to ingredients differently.

Packaging: If you're familiar with other Elizavecca products, you'll recognize the tub this pack is in. The tub is insulated (there is an air layer between the outside layer of plastic and the packaging that's touching the product itself. This product also has a double lid, meaning there is an inner lid (which holds the included spatula) and an outer lid which closes the tub.

The tub comes housed inside a box when it arrives new.

Performance: The thing that stands out most about this product - which is pointed out in the name - is the Jelly-like texture and consistency. The jelly will always be flat when you open the tub, because the high amount of pig collagen allows this product to always return to form (left of photo below). As you can see below, after you remove a scoop of product (top right) the product settles back smooth within a matter of seconds (bottom right).

This pack feels like a smooth non-sticky jelly, and melts into the skin easily and quickly. After it's absorbed it leaves the skin feeling smooth, soft, plump, and hydrated.

I would recommend this product for all skin types, but of course I recommend patch-testing first just in case.

#Elizavecca Hand Cream [Review]

I love this time of year when the seasons change, the leaves turn colors, the air becomes crisp and cool... but this time of year also brings on dry skin, and that includes dry flaky hands.

I am notorious for avoiding hand creams because I usually feel like they're either too greasy to allow me to do anything after I apply it, or they absorb too quickly and leave my hands itchy until I apply more and more and more... all day long. Of course there are one or two that I enjoy using, but like everything else, I like having options and I like knowing I have a back-up.

Elizavecca: YeonYe HeokMyung 2hSam Hand Cream
80ml; Made in Korea

Product Description:
This hand cream contains shea butter, sea cucumber extract, and red ginseng to hydrate, prevent moisture loss, and keep your hands looking youthful and feeling soft.

Packaging:
The hand cream comes in a tube, packaged in a thin cardboard box. There is a description on the back of the box and the tube, but I was unable to translate it well.

The tube itself is true to Elizavecca form - meaning it's totally adorable and I'm pleased to carry it around with me everywhere.

Scent/Color:
This hand cream has a very light fresh scent to it - if you're familiar with Avon products, this smells like Silicone Glove. It is white in color.

Texture:
The texture of the cream is thick but it spreads easily with the warmth of your skin, and absorbs within a couple minutes. The moisturization lasts several hours.

My Thoughts:
I think this is a great cream for anyone with dry hands, flakey hands, or skin that feels tight. The light scent disappears quickly, and the thick hydrating formula absorbs into my hands quickly.
