The "Sparkle-Me-Bright" Brightening Lemon Lime Mask contains vitamin c from lemon and lime extract that help brighten dark spots and clarify your complexion. It also contains green tea extract to help calm redness and irritation. This mask is good for all skin types, but claims to be great for combination skin.
My thoughts: I enjoyed the refreshing scent, and the mask felt nice while it was on my face, but the essence dried up too quickly once removed, and left my skin feeling a little parched. I did notice a nice brightening effect thought, which I thoroughly appreciated thanks to my hormonal pregnancy acne...
The "Avo-Cuddle-Me" Nourishing Avocado Mask contains avocado and hibiscus extracts to help protect skin from harsh environmental elements and also prevent wrinkles. This mask is good for all skin types, but claims to be great for dry skin.
My thoughts: This was my favorite mask of the four, I think because while testing these out my skin was so dry and flaky from allergies. The hydration was lovely, and long-lasting - but not too heavy!
The "Water-Me-Long" Moisturizing Watermelon Mask contains watermelon and lavender extracts to hydrate your skin and calm your senses. This mask is good for all skin types but claims to be great for combination skin.
My thoughts: I totally get what Althea was going for with this mask, but the lavender throws me for a bit of a loop. It was a nice, basic, hydrating sheet mask, but I think I would have loved just a watermelon mask a little more.
The "Ac-Me-Peach" Anti Blemish Peach Mask contains peach and tea tree leaf extracts to hydrate, purify, and soothe skin. This mask is great for all skin types but claims to be great for combination skin.
My thoughts: While I'm not a fan of the smell of tea tree, I did appreciate there be an acne-combative mask in this collection. My skin has been absolutely nuts lately, and this particular mask did help calm and shrink some angry acne spots.
The BHA Blackhead Blaster is a small (8 gram) cleansing stick that contains charcoal, white willow bark (BHA), apricot seed, and tea tree leaf oil. Together these powerhouse ingredients help remove excess sebum and dead skin cells, unclog pores, and work to prevent new whiteheads and blackheads from forming.
My thoughts: I am in love with this cleansing stick. It may be small, but I can see it lasting quite a while, even if I use it a few times a week. I previously used a similar type of stick I had purchased from Althea, but it contained more rough exfoliating ingredients, so I really needed to be careful how often I used it - it also didn't contain charcoal or tea tree.
This stick has been a welcome addition to my routine, in the effort towards keeping my face a bit more clear and *hopefully* prevents even more acne from forming. The tea tree smell, again, is a little much for my sensitive pregnant nose, but the effects of this Blackhead Blaster are well worth it!
The Merengue Puffs are the only items from the collection that I really haven't gotten fully aquatinted with yet, only because I don't wear makeup very often. The Giant Merengue Puff if meant for foundation, or more full face applications. The Baby Merengue Puffs come in packs of three, and are super tiny - and cute! They are meant for more detailed applications. All the puffs can be used dry or wet, and when wet they nearly double in size!
I think this collection is a welcome addition to the Althea family, and I am in love with the cute packaging and variety of items chosen!
