Dr Jart Pore Minimalist Mask #Review

Dr Jart is fairly easily found in the United States and is known for bb creams, masks and professional-quality treatments. Today, I'm trying out their Pore Minimalist Sheet Mask.

This is a black sheet mask formulated with:

• Activated Charcoal: to detox, tighten and purify the pores.
• Spearmint Extract: to improve pore elasticity.
• Arginine: to to clarify the pores.
• Moroccan Lava Clay: to remove dead skin cells and firm the skin. 

This mask is supposed to be good for blemished and oily skin, large pores, and anyone looking for a clear and healthy complexion.

Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Dimethyl Sulfone, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, PEG-32, Glycereth-26, Panthenol, Charcoal Powder, Alcohol Denat., Achillea Millefolium Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Artemisia Absinthium Extract, Gentiana Lutea Root Extract, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Extract, Moroccan Lava Clay, Polyphosphorylcholine, Glycol Acrylate, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Potassium Sorbate.

The CosDNA analysis of this mask revealed one small (1 out of 5) acne trigger close to the top of the ingredient list and one large (5 out of 5) skin irritant in the middle of the list. Overall not too terribly worrying, but something to keep an eye out for any issues after use.

Before. I'm breaking out on my chin, nose, and cheeks - so hopefully this mask helps my skin!

I love the black mask! But it's a little stiff...

This is probably the best nose-fitting sheet mask I've tried to-date.

After - Holy calm and clear face Batman! I'm glad I have more of these.

Much to my surprise, this mask really did tighten up my gaping pores. Wowza!

This mask had a fresh clean scent to it, and was soft to the touch, but a little stiff which made it a little harder to get it to stay on my face. It was a little cooling, but I felt no itching or burning or anything else that may indicate it was irritating my skin.

I immediately noticed clarity in my skin after removing the mask, which is awesome because that's why I used it! My face is freaking out today, and at $7.50 a sheet - I sure hope it really does something! I honestly loved this mask and will purchase more when I run out. I bought mine at Sephora.

Code9 GoldBlack Caviar Essence & Gold Tox Tightening set #Review

In the past I received a tub of "7 Seconds Morning Sheets" from The Skin House in Memebox Mask Edition #4. These sheets were a holy grail for me on mornings where I was running late for class, or being pushed to make breakfast, or - well, pretty much any morning where my son woke up the same time I did. Soon enough these magic sheets ran out and I found myself debating whether or not I should buy more. As I saw they were on sale in the Memeshop, I also saw these amazing looking babies, the Neogen Code9 GoldBlack Caviar Essence & Gold Tox Tightening Set:

Gold? Really? Ok, I NEED this! An additional plus to this set that drew me in was the metion of being able to remove blackheads and sebum, as well as all the other benefits mentioned above. This sheet also uses a "gold thread pad" which is supposed to exfoliate:

So being on sale for $27 and free shipping (now on sale for $22! - but no free shipping) in the Memeshop, I ordered as quick as my little hands could click.

Here's how it arrived just a couple weeks later:

The whole set looks almost too beautiful to actually use - almost...

Assembly was easy and took less than a minute:

The longest part of preparation is waiting for the product to "mature" in the fridge for 9 hours.

The first thing I noticed about the set, besides the little flecks of gold in the solution, was that the solution smells like oranges. It's a fresh citrus scent that is really refreshing in the morning. Along with the chill of being in the fridge, this set has officially become part of my daily morning routine. It does leave a slight moist feeling on the skin, which I've found has actually helped with my makeup application. The added moisture allows me to blend my bb cream better and get a thinner, more natural, application.

 I'm not sure what changed in my lighting in the 2 minutes between pictures, but hopefully you can see the down-play in redness in the "after" photo and the nice brightening effect these sheets have on my skin.

Marine Algae #SheetMask from Beauty Friends #Review

 This Marine Algae mask was purchased from eBay seller "simplenavy" - $25.99 for 30.

This mask contains algae and various types of deep-sea minerals and vitamins that help to rejuvenate the skin. It is supposed to mildly moisturize and refine your skin.

 I love that these masks include both Korean and English on the packaging.

During... I love the fit of this mask. I've never really seen a cotton mask fit this well!

After. Notice the light reflecting off the side of my face? That's how hydrated my face is right now!

This Marine Algae mask made my face feel hydrated and moist. Similar to the Red Ginseng mask I recently tried from Beauty Friends, this mask also had a weird "fermented" smell to it. I experienced a bit of pinkening in my face after I removed the mask, but it disappeared quickly. The remaining essence absorbed nicely and did not leave my face feeling sticky.

Ipsy's November 2014 theme was "Girl Meets Glitter" which seemed perfect for me (since, ya know, my blog name is "The Glitter Chic" lol). Will the products impress this month?

I am in love with this months' make-up bag, look at that pretty shimmery glitter!

These are the products I received; including the brand and name of the product.

Overall this month was a disappointment for me. I loved the bag everything came in, but everything else was pretty useless to me.

The SeaRx is a lotion in a tube that would allow for one, maybe two, uses. I received it in Birchbox months ago and didn't care for it, so I knew to give this away.

It Cosmetics undereye concealer is supposed to be a great product, but I don't feel like my eyes are really to the point where I need extra concealer. I fair well with a highlighter when needed.

J Cat lip paint - ugh. I'm beyond fed up with the crap I get from J Cat and the fact that their customer service is non-responsive. I'm not even trying this out.

The Marc Anthony hair spray looks to be a great item, but my hair is too short for hair spray really. I use a wax and that's it. So someone else will get to try this out instead.

The Starlooks eye pencil looks promising, and will probably be the only item I try out of this months bag.

This face control foundation has green tea extract added to make it extra nourishing for the skin. Perfect for a spooky Halloween canvas, and a year-round white eyeshadow base to make those colors pop!

Revecen Cake Eyeliner in Black; 3.5g ($8)

This eyeliner cake is powder - which is meant to be mixed with water to create a liner in a perfect consistency. This works perfectly for creating the look of stitches and spider webs on your skin for Halloween, and a nice solid liner to wing-out with year-round. 

Revencen Supra Lining Color in Purple; 17g ($30) - with flash

This purple lining color is a nice paint for Halloween. I immediately think "Dia De Los Muertos" when I see this beautiful rich color in person, but it worked really nice lightly applied with the black eyeliner cake to create bruising or a "death" look on a zombie. This is also a very nice cream eyeshadow ;-)

Falsies oh falsies, how do I love thee.... These are some gorgeous eyelashes, and their wear will not be limited to Halloween, I can tell you that right now! They also have a black band so they wear well with the eyeliner cake on your lashline.

Revecen Liquid Lipstick Blood; 8ml ($16)

This liquid lipstick is a nice deep shade red. I love liquid lipstick, but this one also doubles as liquid blood. This is perfect for my sons' zombie costume too!

Elizavecca Lip Tattoo in Dark Burgundy; $14

These left me kinda iffy. They applied ok, but they seem a bit cheap, and didn't adhere the greatest.

Lalanc Real Tattoo in No. 6; $5

These temporary tattoos were the most fun for the whole family out of the box. Not just for Halloween, who doesn't love being able to have a little extra design on their skin for a day or two? These particular designs are cute enough for my son to enjoy, but no so odd like other temporary tattoos I've tried in years past that even I can wear them too, and not feel ashamed about my inner child being exposed.

This box is amazing, for Halloween and beyond!
