This month, Chewy sent Venus a pack of Blue Buffalo Healthy Starts Wet Dog Food to try.
This item is a press sample, received in exchange for an honest review. |
As I mentioned, this is the Blue Buffalo Healthy Starts Wet Food. Venus has been favoring wet food over dry food lately as she gets older, but I try to keep dry food in her diet anyway to give her jaw a bit of a workout.
These Blue Buffalo trays are 3 ounces in size. The feeding guidelines suggest feeding three trays for every 10 pounds of body weight, which would mean Venus should eat about five trays each day. However, we have been giving her one a day as a morning treat and adjusting her dry food accordingly for the remainder of the day.
Venus, being the precious princess that she is, prefers her wet food mashed up or in bite sizes. I'm not sure if it's her tiny mouth or just that we've treated her more as a baby than a dog over the years, but we happily oblige to this request.
It's not often she comes running and anxiously waits for her food. Treats? Always. But food? Not so much. It's something my husband also noticed, and mentioned that we should buy more to have on hand before we run out. It's been nice seeing her enjoy her food so much again.
I feel happy feeding Blue Buffalo Healthy Starts to Venus because real Beef is the first ingredient, chicken liver is the third, and there's eggs too - because what breakfast is complete without some eggs? This little trays are full of protein and also contain B12 to help her digestive system biotin to keep her coat soft and shiny, and minerals to boost her immune system.
Venus has been loving the Blue Buffalo Healthy Starts Southwest Skillet flavor, and we hope your furry pal loves them too!
Blue Buffalo Healthy Starts Wet Dog Food comes in four different flavors, available for purchase at Chewy.com.
